Superb close-up on this tulip field with the errant red bloom standing out like a sore thumb. Perfectly exposed with good use made of differential depth of field. Excellent colours and clarity.

Elle est vraiment trθs belle cette composition. Tu as su bien voir cette tulipe rebelle au niveau de la couleur et de sa hauteur pour en faire le sujet principal tout en utilisant la masse en arriθre plan.

Fabulous sight, Lars, Tulips are spring best flower to take photos of in Holland.
An abundance of this beauty, stunning colors, and even with one that looks different.
We do not have tulips grown in Israel, too dry and warm for those.

Hello Lars,
This is a stunning and very amusing photo. How is it possible that one of these more or less machine-made flowers can grow so differently? Or is it actually a different kind of flower grown here by mistake? It's an amazing photo in any case and quite different from anything I've seen before.

haha...this is a scene i've been meaning to post as well, i recently visited the tulip fields here and captured the same photo :)

smart idea to leave the sky OUT, this way we can just focus in on the flowers and bright colors. nothing wrong with this one! cheers

fantastic composition. Very well spotted. Not only is this tulip differently colored but also taller than others so it literally stands out of the crowd. Beautiful and so characteristic for the Netherlands.

Greetings Lars,

You have solved the problem of what do do with hugely, colourful fields of flowers - of course you want the colours in the shot, but to lift it above a postcard image, one needs a focus and you have achieved that with the single, tall tulip forming the focus of this work. There is a nice, shallow, DoF to help accentuate your focal point. Nice work, Iain.
