Amsterdam - Koninginnedag 2012.
il 30 aprile gli olandesi lo festeggiano colorando di arancio tutto il paese - la festa della regina e' un evento che inzia la notte del 29 aprile e si protrae per tutto il 30. anche se non e' il vero giorno del compleanno della regina Beatrice, Koninginnedag e' considerata la festa per eccellenza dell'anno. tutti portano qualcosa di arancione (il colore degli Oranje, la casa reale olandese) e in ogni quartiere ci sono mercatini delle pulci, musica, cibo e bevande. per i turisti il 30 aprile e' spesso sinonimo di feste a base di alcool e musica assordante, per molti olandesi invece e' un modo di "occupare" le strade e le piazze e di vendere oggetti usati, dolci, libri, dischi, etc.
quest'anno nel mio quartiere c'erano molti ragazzini che suonavano musica rock - dai White Stripes a Jimi Hendrix ai Guns and Roses... proprio come quelli che vedete nella foto :)
nel WS un esempio di "moda arancio"... :)

Amsterdam - Koninginnedag 2012.
April 30th is Queensday - a sea of orange invades every street and square of the country and people "occupy" boardwalks and parks to sell whatever they think they can sell - used things, clothes, books, records, lamps, cookies, cakes, sandwiches, beer, etc.
everybody wears something orange (the colour of the Oranje, the Dutch royal family) and there's music and food everywhere. this year the mayor of Amsterdam tried to "decentralize" the parties from the centre of Amsterdam, to avoid the usual drinking excesses and droning music stages. Where I live Koninginnedag is always a popular event, where kids sell their cakes and drinks and perform and the atmosphere is cosy and relaxed.
This year a lot of kids were playing rock music - and I mean really playing, not only pretending: from Jimi Hendrix to The White Stripes to Guns and Roses, these 10-12 year old kids (like the ones in the picture) proved that good music doesn't always have to come from adults...
in the WS you can see another example of "Oranje fashion"... :)
