One of Soviet car brands - Moskvitsch. Have spent my childhood with two of them. Lousy and low quality as hell, but that's better than no car at all. My father learned all about it and repaired the car himself. In Soviet Union when you purchased a new car a lot of work was ahead. It took one - two months to complete the "machine building" because in factory they forgot one or another screw, others were not screwed to the end, one or another detail was missing, something was misplaced etc. etc. But finally, after hard work the car was usable. Fuel was very cheap and if the car lasted, you could drive wherever you liked. Cars were sturdy to survive the terrible roads.

It was like meeting childhood to see this one standing in Boulevards of Riga. Have no clue why it has been served as a present. May be the former owner just presents it to the city...
