Photographer's Note
The Town Hall Square in Riga was the economic and administrative center of Riga until the 19th century. The Town Hall Square has been completely re-built, since during the World War II the square and its historic buildings were destroyed. The city guests are welcomed by the historical faηade of the House of the Blackheads, as well as the reconstructed Town Hall, and other buildings.
Riga City Council, which is located in the reconstructed Town Hall building.
Roland Statue stands in the middle of the Town Hall Square. Roland was nephew of Charlemagne and a Frankish military leader. The land he had occupied was governed stringently but justly; thus he gradually became the symbol of justice in Northern Germany. Now several towns have Roland statues.

This is a beautiful view of the square, and I like how you used the arch as a frame for the scene. The architecture is lovely, and I like those colorful banners hanging in front of the building entrance. The sunlight is warm and bright, too.

Piotr, good use of that arch to frame the town hall. The building contains a clock tower surmonted by a weathercock. A statue representing Roland is placed in the square. Fine colors, good sharpness, instructive photo note, regards.

Hello Piotr,
There is no doubting that adding the curve of the arch, to create a natural border to your view of the square, adds both depth and interest to your photograph. I like how the extended f/g shadow helps to guide inwards the fine details of the Town Hall.
Because of its similarity in colours with the building, the statue does not stand out strongly (in fact I only noticed it on reading your notes) but the colourful flags do have a strong impact, clearly defining the entrance.

Lovely viewpoint- standing just a couple of feet backwards to include the arch to make the shot. I like the look, the contrast to the beautiful building and lively human activity. Exposure is fine, rich in color tones with good overall contrast, details are vivid too. Another of your fine effort, nicely done.

Missed this one. I like the use of the fg arch as a frame. Good sharpness & the clocktower provides a strong focal point. The colourful vertical flags at the main entrance enhance the scene. Tfs!

I liked the use of this arch in FG while we have this beautiful faηade and tower and a bonus of the sculpture too. excellent image of this corner of this town whose images aren't so frequently seen here.
