View of Saint Peter’s Church and Riga Cathedral
Saint Peter’s Church is one of the oldest monument in Riga, though it looked now looks completely different from the original building, of which very little remains. What can be seen today is for the most part from the 15th and 17th centuries. The church’s 123-meter steeple, dominating the city, is unmissable. From there, the view of the Old Town and of the Daugava River is breath-taking.
Riga Cathedral is the Evangelical Lutheran cathedral in Riga. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Riga.
The cathedral is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Latvia, and is featured in or the subject of paintings, photographs and television travelogues. Like all of the oldest churches of the city, it is known for its weathercock. The church is commonly called the Dome Cathedral. The church was built near the River Daugava in 1211 by Livonian Bishop Albert of Riga, who came from Lower Saxony in northwestern Germany. It is considered the largest medieval church in the Baltic states. It has undergone many modifications in the course of its history.

Piotr, the cathedral is really imposant compared to the other buildings in the town. It dominates this urban landscape. The elevated point offers a stunning view of Riga as well as the river in the bg. Fine colors, good sharpness, instructive photo note, regards.

Hello Piotr,
I never saw Riga from above, so I don't recognize this view. The many towers inside the tight frame make an impression of a very old city. It's a very interesting view but the light seems to have been slightly difficult.

Hello Piotr,
Lack of light and maybe some fog/mist over town did not work well for this picture.
Yet, We can still realize how beautiful the skyline is, with its six towers appearing here.

Czesc Piotr,
widze sporo nowych pieknych fotografii w Twojej galerii.
To byla naprawde owocna podroz i to do tak "egzotycznych" miejsc.
Te mniejsza wiezedruga z kolei rzeczywiscie kojarze z Ryga, natomiast przyjrzawszy sie dzis lepiej tej najwyzszej wiezy przypomnial mi sie inny kosciol znowu bedacy siedziba hanzeatyckiej organizacji.
Wiem ze widziales to zdjecie ale rzuc okiem TUTAJ czy wieze nie maja czegos podobnego w sobie.
Wieza po prawej stronie natomiast przypomina mi TEN kosciol z Lubeki...
Sporo wspolnego rzeczywiscie maja te miejsca...
