Photographer's Note
Ok, it's a joke, it isn't a Blue City...it isn't a Sardinian version of Jodhpur or of Sidi Bou Said!
It's a large blue building on the main square of the oldest citycentre of Posada, a beautiful small village on the eastern coast of Sardinia.
I went for the first time in Posada in the 1970...i cannot remember that 'cause at that time i was just 9 months old...but i have some pictures! I was there!
Then i went in Sardinia with my parents every summer until the 1985 (except the 1975 in Corsica and the 1982 in the Tuscanian Islands), and we visited Posada every summer, 'cause it's really close to the wonderful beach of San Giovanni.
In the 70's and in the beginning of the 80's Sardinia wasn't a touristic destination. Few ones and for the largest part in the 3 main touristic areas: Costa Smeralda, Stintino and Alghero.
All the rest of the island coasts wwere completely empty of toursits, but also by local people, that still in the 25-30 years ago didn't have a good feeling with the sea (except in the big cities). The largest part of the villages and the small cities of Sardinia aren't settled on the coast, but in the inner Sardinia, on the hills or in the mountains. An heritage of the time of invasions, a time long more than 2000 years!
So just to 20 years ago the beach was completely empty of people also in August!
This blue building was pretty collapsed in some 70's pictures took my by father...and it wasn't blue, but brown as all the other ones of the village! But in the past 3, 4 years the major of Posada did a great work on the renovation of the historical city centre, located on the top of a rock with on the upper part a tower, that in the past August i visited for the first time...in the other more than 15 times that i visited Posada the tower was copletely collapsed from decades. It was completely rebuilt and today it gave a wonderful 360° view on the Posada area and on the 4,5 kilometers white sand stripe of San Giovanni Beach.
Other buildings have today warm colours on the facades and many other ones were under renovations. A great job.
In this picture another view of the main square from another point.

Olα Paolo, I actually thought in Greece...it seems a wonderful and pretty place to spend some relaxed days. The light seems not to be the best of the day, but I like a lot the atmosphere. Excellent complementar pictures along with a great note.

Well yes Paolo, I had thought it was somewhere in Tunisia indeed, both because of the blue color and also for the shapes of the building. Nice shot and interesting note, TFS. Daniel

Ciao Paolo.
Ciao.
Bobo.

Ciao Paolo,
at the first sight it looks some greek view and the walls painted in light colors, almost white. Very interesting place. You managed the light very well. It was a difficult situation but you did it with perfection. Nice highlight/shadow and exposure. Beautiful!

Ciao Paolo,
This is absolutely unexpected surprise with blue colored facade. Very attractive one with small light plays on its facade. Arches in dark, old style terracotta roof tiles makes your already unique photo a rich one while visitors adding life to the scene. Very informative posts in workshop versions too as same in your note. Congratulations. Have a nice week end.

Ciao Paolo,

Hi Paolo
A pleasing shot of the old part of town. It's nice to see them revive the old buildings rather than replace them with new monolithic structures.

Indeed I would have guessed Morroco, Tunisia or India. I see you started travelling long before I did, even if we are almost exactly the same age.

Hi Paolo,
Very nice place it seems this village. The too WS give aditional view to this cute town. It seems that the space to look for a POV was quite small, as the streets look narrow there. You got a nice POV and good compo, it would be even better with a perspective correction, but them you would probally lose part of the nice lamp which completes the compo... Beautiful blue colors here.

Flavia

Besides the beauty of its coloring and softness, your note, which includes a long personal history of the building, also amazes me. Very nice photo and a nice joke in the title :)
