Photographer's Note
Naples' San Francesco do Paola was actually modelled on the Pantheon in Rome and is situated in the centre of the
Piazza del Plebiscito. Commissioned in 1817 by Ferdinand I, this circular basilica is the ultimate in neoclassical
grandeur. Inside the temple, the magnificent main alter is detailed in gold and many precious stones originated from the Churh of Santi Apostoli, which was sadly destroyed.

Hi John
Nice picture here, I like the way its framed and composed. The tonal range is a bit flat, but i guess it was probably cloudy when you took the picture. One thing I sometimes experiences with on this sort of shot is to lower down and tilt up the camera so as to give the building a more impressive look. Sometimes works.
Nice picture!

I think most views I have seen shows the church from across the piazza, with the sweeping arms leading up to the church. I have a couple like that. But this close up view really gives a sense of the monumentality of the church. The perspective distortion gives the columns a towering feel. And the people certainly add a great sense of scale to the facade. Perhaps it could use a little more contrast to enhance the depth in the photo into the columns. But the upward depth is really good with that distortion and the point of view capturing the rising statue and soaring dome.
