Madonna and Child - Carbognano Viterbo
The fresco, depicting the Madonna and Child on a cloud surrounded by musician angels, is located in the cap of the last niche of the left wall of the church of Santa Maria della Concezione in Carbognano, built in 1522 as you can read from the engraving on the portal, the expansion of the town made it necessary to build it on the basis of a pre-existing church. In the drum (SEE WS) there are frescoes of Saint John the Evangelist, Saint Jerome and a bearded saint, probably Saint Anthony the Abbot.
Between San Giovanni and San Girolamo you can glimpse a lake panorama, it is probably a representation of Lake Vico.
It seems to recognize the hand of the first generation of Torresani.

Hello Silvio,
I would regard this fresco as of a high artistic quality. What we see in the main photo is quite well preserved. The lower part shown in the WS is also a beautiful painting but showing more damage. But you captured both photos with good exposures and fine colours even though the available light seems to have been limited.

Wonderful image with these beautiful frescoes so old and so well preserved, the Virgin with the Child and the entire choir of Angels are a delight.

Hello Silvio, I like how you share so many of the beautiful frescoes that are in your region; frescoes that many of us are probably unlikely to see for real.
This is another beautiful example. The colours are quite subtle yet the figures are clearly visible.
