Church of Santa Maria di Pietrarossa - Pietrarossa - Trevi

One of the most interesting and ancient churches in Umbria, to be hanged whoever put this floor that does not transpire and makes the humidity rise along the walls, damage the frescoes.
The name of the church and of the locality is given by a red stone which is now embedded in the second pillar, to the right of whoever enters the church. A very ancient tradition, perhaps dating back to paganism, attributed thaumaturgical powers in the treatment of infertility.
The church was built where the Roman Trevi once stood, above the remains of an ancient Roman building, perhaps a temple or perhaps ancient baths built near the river Clitunno.
