Photographer's Note
Many have faced the problem of war but no one has yet thought about the economic consequences of this terrible moment, as if the pandemic were not enough. In Italy, the crisis was immediate, Russian tourists are an important part of Italian business, and exports, especially luxury goods and agricultural products, have been significantly affected. Of course, peace, freedom and people's lives come first, I just wanted to underline this other aspect, while today the first girl of a Ukrainian refugee who arrived in Italy 2 days ago was born, a good sign for the future. The photo comes from the Prada store in the Galleria in Milan.

Hello Luciano,
I am happy to hear of the baby born with good timing in a better place than temporarily Ukraine.
I know we will all suffer economically from the war and the sanctions, and Italy probably being among the countries that will be the hardest hit, but it seems impossible to say that we cant't support Ukraine in this difficult time because it will be bad for ourselves. Our only common hope is that the bestial Russian regime will be overthrown as soon as possible and Putin hung from a lamppost.
The photo is nicely confusing with lots of details to discover among the reflections.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Luciano
Beautiful view of this store. Good reflection with shadows and white architecture in the background. Well done. The presence of passers-by and the man looking at the shop window brings the image to life. Good text

Hello Luciano,
A great photo of the shopping window with lots of pretty expensive items on sale. I really like the mix of reflections and merchandise, whose mostly golden tones stand out well.

Hello Luciano, sorry to read that the Italian tourist industry has been immediately impacted by the very recent events in Russia and the Ukraine. It is a dreadful situation, who knows where it will lead?
This shot has some interesting layers, like a riddle that needs solving.
I like the tight framing, so our eyes are focused on what is happening as we look through the reflections etc.,
Kind regards, Jean.

Ciao Luciano,
Yes I remember the discussion on the sanctions for Russia, Italy tried to make exception for luxury items, like Prada, Gucci, etc.
This reminds me the title of the movie: "Devil wears Prada", ha ha
Yes it is tough and will be tougher here but it may in the long term make us independent on Russia. Lovely shop window,
M

Hello Luciano,
In Belgium we have the problem that Russia and Ukraine were among the main buyers of certain Belgian beers and that this export is now stopping. Other sectors are likely to be affected.
Not good news but I expect that there will be (financial) compensation for these companies.
It's much worse when your hometown is bombed and you have to flee headlong to an unknown destination without knowing if and when you can ever return home.
Even worse when you, your partner or your immediate family are killed in a bombing raid or at the front.
Of course I understand that with this photo you want to highlight the problem that may not have dawned on everyone yet.
Very good technical execution.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Luciano
A busy visual representation but good overall effect with the chaotic glass reflections and has that sense of confusion with reality. Only the Devil Wears Prada, so the saying goes.

Ciao Luciano,
There are many aspects of this war and all people are somehow affected, at least economically. But nothing can be compared to the loss of lives of innocent people.
Interesting picture from the luxury shop in the gallery in Milan. I see you in the green shirt.

Hi Luciano,
Quite fascinating picture with countless reflections and surprising details. I couldn't care less of luxury items but this looks good anyway.
This also brought to my mind a confusing image of any war, always full of betrayal, lies and secrets.

Ciao caro Luciano,
What you note is entirely true.
Already fuel prices and wheat prices are escalating, when prices were already increasing on the back of Covid and things are going to become very difficult, particularly to the poorer members of society.
However, the difficulties we will endure seem much more slight than those being endured by the Ukrainian population. Putin is a war criminal!
Your photograph is sharp and full of unexpected details, which need to be carefully studied. This was a good choice for what you wanted to explain.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Buongiorno Luciano,
A selphie reflection with the luxurios items on display, but the subject has nothing to do with the war going on. A world wide under this terrible influence.
Anyway, a nice outcome.

Ciao Luciano
What a brilliant photo, well spotted and taken. I love the mixture of reflections and real subjects.
It's true we rarely think or even know of all the people affected by economic santions and it's a great sacrifice on the part of Italy.
Great news about the baby!
Have a nice week

Hello Luciano,
Fortunately for Italia, this is Prada, not Pravda, the Communist newspaper and mouth piece of the former USSR. It's still spreading it extremely biased propaganda today. Hopefully someone will block it soon.

Interesting reflections with good sharpness and framing. Tfs!

Hi Luciano.
Just arrived from my vacation trip, I'm back in the pages of TE.
A good photo of this showcase that shows, one of the consequences of this cruel and senseless war, the immediate consequences we are already seeing in the rise in prices. Even the worst is for the Ukrainian people.
I just arrived from Dubai and at the Expo I saw with great satisfaction, how no one was interested in entering the Russian or Belarusian pavilion.
Great composition, magnificent colors, splendid light and excellent clarity.
Very well done. I like.
Have a good week.
Luis.

Hi Luciano
Wars have always been disastrous for many people and beneficial for a few. Nihil sub sole novum.
Beautiful picture with these people reflected in the shop window.

You are absolutely right, I would add - unreasonable politics on all sides has come to the fore. The only thing is that now, when it comes to Russia's actions, the West has different views than when it itself did similar things to Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria ... and finally in my country in 1999.
For me, there is no difference and I equally condemn all such actions, even similar ones that my country did in the region!
