Vulgar Name : Aurora Provence
Family: Pieridae
Front wing length 16-21 mm
Male : yellow with basal blackish tinge . Forewings with a large orange subapical area bounded by a blackish tinge , stain discocellulare black and blackish apical edge . The rear design shines greenish backhand .
Reverse: yellow. White front with a large subapical orange band that leaves uncovered the apical area yellow with slight greenish design . Discocellulare black stain . Rear more or less intensely covered by a thick greenish design that leaves uncovered numerous yellow spaces .
Female : white with blackish tinge baseline . Fore wings with a black spot discocellulare , orange subapical area covered mostly by drawings blackish . In the rear yellowish gray shines through in the design of the reverse.
Distribution: western and central Alps . Central-Southern Apennines
Habitat: meadows and thickets of the basal plane and mountain , between 300 and 2000 meters above sea level
Generations per year : one with flickering of adults in April- magus .
Plants suckler : Biscutella laevigata

There are very nice contrasts and balance between the yellow and orange butterfly and the blue flowers. The blurred green background makes the important colours and details even more strong and vivid. The butterfly is impressively sharp.

Very well captured this butterfly, with very attractive colors, in the blur of the background the blue flowers give a powerful complement of color.

Hi Silvio,
Blue and yellow make an excellent combination. And so do sharp and blurry. Lovely butterfly. I don't think you can find those in Finland.

Hello Silvio,
I like the soft lighting and selective focus on the butterfly. Good sharpness and a fine downward pov. The orange tips on the wings add a splash of warm colour that contrasts well with the blue bg flowers. Tfs!

A yellow Butterfly with a dash of orange on the Forewings.
The blackish tinge body and tail ... makes this Butterfly so beautiful and mysterious sexy. I love the white tip antennae and the blurry b/g.
