Photographer's Note
One of the many photos I took from my window during the lockdown. A rest period for many workers, but really boring for retirees, with the bars closed and no activities to carry out. From Monday in Italy we return to normal, a right choice for the southern regions but very risky for the north west, where the infections are still high. I will not open my bar, the directives to follow are very heavy and, having received them today, obviously it was not possible to organize in time.

Hello Luciano
Good to read that the situation is slowly getting back to normal. A pity that you can`t be able to open your bar yet. The man is well placed in front of the large columns. A good photo to describe the hopeless situation. A great post and a good reportage photo:) TFS.
Take care and stay safe.

Ciao caro Luciano,
Ah, ha, I recognise where this man is sitting from your previous photos (and maps)! He is sitting by the roadside at the base of one of the pillars of the portico of your basilica. The poor fellow looks totally "fed up" and bored and would probably give anything just now to come to your bar and have a coffee - or something a bit stronger. But unfortunately your bar is closed.
This man's mask won't be doing very much good other than keeping his chin warm but I guess he's not interested in that.
I can imagine that this must be a very stressful time for you - you obviously want to open your bar but that has to be balanced against the very real risk of the rate of infections suddenly escalating - and then we can be in a worse position than before. Yes, it worries me here in Britain too as they start to begin to open schools and later maybe restaurants and bars. Very worrying times. I presume that your government cannot actually make you open your bar - surely you can refuse to open it if you are concerned about the risks of spreading infections?
Anyway, Luciano, a perfect photograph which shows exactly how so many of us are feeling right now.
You take care and stay safe.
Kindest Regards,
John.

Bonsoir Luciano,

Bonjour, cher ami Luciano,

Hello Luciano,
A very good portrait. The man's boredom is expressed in a way that nobody could misunderstand. He is obviously totally fed up with the compulsory mask. You had good time to compose the photo well and found him in a very nice place.
I understand that you don't want to reopen your bar under the very strict conditions that you described to John. Likewise the rules that have been suggested for holidaying in the Mediterranean area this summer sound so complicated and unpleasant that most people would probably prefer to stay home.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Luciano,
This image represents feelings of about everybody, I guess. Simple but very well framed view. Bases of big columns catch attention. It is exciting time to see what is the effect of opening different places. There hasn't been a lockdown in Finland, but we need to wait two more weeks before bars and restaurants are allowed to open.

Ciao Caro Luciano,
Oh, I feel so sorry for you.
You must be eager to open your bar but not at any cost! And, of course, if you are restricted in the numbers that you can allow in, it seems hardly profitable!
Our local pub is suffering in the same way. As an interim measure, they are doing take-away meals but that hardly compensates them, just keeps them ticking over.
Did you see that an Amsterdam restaurant serves guests in individual greenhouses to allow social distancing!
Anyway, back to your photograph. This guy reminds me of a gent in our village and he would be the type of person who would wear a mask but not appropriately!
You have really captured the mood; the mood of the person and the mood of people generally!
A great metaphor for the depressing effects of the virus.
Keep safe.
Regards, Bev :-)

Hello Luciano,
....if I've a window like you have, I wouldn't go out with my bicycle trip.
The man not only looks bored but the uncertainty what the future may brings. He might be thinking, 'Damn the crisis'.
The only thing I know, we all in this .... To carry on as normal as possible. Normal?????
On the hand, the man might be thinking, 'We will overcome this'.
tfs and Stay Strong.

Hello Luciano,
The way the man is sitting at the corner of the building next to the large column and with his face mask pulled down symbolises very well what many people are probably feeling about the current situation, but unfortunately it doesn't look like we can afford to let down our guard any time soon. Well spotted and captured.

Hello Luciano,
New measures or changes to the existing ones that are only announced at the last minute and are sometimes not entirely clear ... we know that in our country too.
In addition, the new measures may mean that you can no longer work profitably.
Not easy to make choices for those who run a shop, restaurant or bar.
I wish you all success in this still challenging times.
The man's facial expression says it all.
Boredom strikes and human contacts are not possible.
Boring for retirees, you write.
We should also remember that the very oldest among us are not all very good at computers, smartphones, internet, etc. Social exclusion can become a problem more quickly among the elders.
All the best!
Paul

Quarantine time made us recognize that we don't even had to go out to take spectacular shots, you took this from your bar and Claude used to photograph people from his balcony. This particular photo is an excellent reportage from the quarantine times!

Bonjour Luciano
Amicalement

Ciao Luciano,
This man represents the boredom of quarantine perfectly. We are just sitting...and waiting... His posture, and the look on his face, convey his emotions. The mask reminds us of the current situation. I hope you will be able to reopen your bar soon. Take care!

Hi Luciano.
Certainly this man has the appearance of being bored, it is normal because after so much time of confinement we are all fed up. By the way, the position of your mask is not recommended.
Here in Spain the de-escalation is being by region and some are more advanced than others, here Madrid we are the most retained, I do not know if for security or because of the confrontation of the Central Government with the Autonomous, of the opposite party, there are beginning to be casseroles against the government the truth is that we are fed up already.
Sharpness, lighting and color are perfect.
Well done. I like it.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Ciao Luciano.
Very good capture and note. Yes, no wonder people who live in enclosed places without daily oxygen must suffer the most this lockdown situation. Elderly especially need the care and fresh air, loneliness is a terrible feeling and such unpleasant moment in their lives adds more sorrow and pain. Have a nice Sunday!!!

Hello Luciano
I know just how he feels! As a retiree myself, my life has certainly been constricted considerably: my boat's been out of bounds, and, as you say, all the bars are shut! Hope yours is able to reopen soon. Maybe I'll come and visit...

Hi Luciano
ya, this is pretty much the expression on most of our faces today isn't it. I hear Italy is starting to open up again, so that'll be great news. Seems like most of the deaths are in old age homes anyways. I'm sure this man would have a smile on his face if he were sitting in your bar :) Stay safe!

Ciao Luciano,
I am so jealous. In the UK face masks are not that popular, I think just for public transportation it is required now, but not many people use public transport in the north of England.
So I lose the opportunity to take those nice photos of people in the masks.
Very nice capture here with the man visibly bored.
The mask makes a mark of these extraordinary times.
