Photographer's Note
The Archiginnasio Palace, one of the buildings of the University of Bologna, almost all surfaces of walls and ceilings are completely covered with coats of arms representing kings, barons, dukes, lords and other nobles of Europe, as well as professors and students of the university. There are about 7000 of them.
Among the students there were many famous scholars, poets and musicians:
Francesco Petrarca, Erasmus of Rotterdam, Albrecht Dόrer, Nicolaus Copernicus, Paracelsus, Marcello Malpighi, Luigi Galvani, Giovanni Cassini, Umberto Eco and many, many others.
In my photo you can see the staircase to the Anatomical Theatre (old anatomy hall).

Tak mi sie wydawało, ze pamietam ten pałac. Byłam w tym anatomicznym teatrze. Fascynujące miejsce. Fantastyczne malowidła na ścianach i suficie. Fajne zdjęcie ze schodσw.

A splendid capture of this beautifully decorated ceiling. Well exposed to put the accent on the ceiling, though I also like the presence of the shadowy figures below who add an air of mystery to the composition. Superb colours and clarity.

Perfect balance between the dark and the light parts of the scene. The focus is beautifully on the rich decorated ceiling, but the contrast with the stair give the picture a nice depth.
