Modica - View of Dente

I just returned home from a holiday of one week in Sicily.
This island deserves of course much more time but I could only take one week off.

So I have limited my visit to three smaller towns, Modica, Ragusa and Noto, all three located in the same region and all three have a direct bus connection with Catania Airport. I also spent one evening and one morning in Catania, located on the east coast of Sicily and one of the ten biggest cities in Italy.

As you may remember from my pictures of Valparaiso, Chile, I really love cities built on hills. Perhaps because this is so much different from the country where I live I dont know. Despite the fact that it was quite tiring to continuously climb the stairs in Modica and in Ragusa (the slopes are slightly less steep in Noto), these towns were really wonderful places.
In addition, the Sicilian people and their cuisine were fantastic!

On the main picture and on one in the workshop I present views of the district Dente (Sicilian language, coming from doriente). Both pictures are taken in Modica Alta.
The second picture in the workshop is taken in Dente.

Although the main picture has a reference to gelati and granite, Modica is most famous for its chocolate.
