Photographer's Note
This is the basaltic cliff in the Island of San Pietro, in the south west coast of Sardinia.
The island is so called because a legend says that the saint found a safe refuge there from a gale while sailing from Africa to Rome. The island is very small (see map link) and it possesses only one town: Carloforte, which in the past was populated mainly by fisherman. Recently it has become a popular tourist summer destination.
I have posted another sight of this rocks: Here

Hello Donato - What an excellent POV, I feel as if I am standing on the cliff's edge carefully peering down mindful of the long fall if I slip! The light is superb, warm and low revealing marvellous textures in the rocks (of course your shot is pin-sharp so the detail can be enjoyed throughout). The sea also benefits from the light and gradual tonal shifts can be seen panning from right to left. A shot of excellent technical quality and equally attractive. TFS and kind regards Rosemary

Ciao caro Donato,
Ciao, buona serata!

Hi Donato,
fine the presentation of the basaltic cliff, with the late light of the day to be captured perfect, giving light-sweet tints in the rocks. The WS with the diver is superb,as outstanding too.

Caro Donato
It's a wonderful surprise to see you off the boat and on dry land. I hope you've been enjoying your summer so far. I have never heard of this fascinating island, so I thank you for that. It could easily be Tasmania with those beautiful red rocks. I love the golden light, those marvellous natural red grafittis and the texture. You are blessed in this remarkably untouched paradise. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Donato,
The richly textured cliffs are beautifully lined and scared by years of exposure to the element.
The unique golden tinged rocks blend beautifully with the deep blue sea.
Warm Regards, Tom

Hello Donato,
Impressive cliffs...!
Shaped by water and wind for ages, appearing to our eyes as nature's own work of art...
The texture in the rocks are very well reproduced, sharp fine details at all distances in this artistic composition!

Ciao Donato,
very impressive capture of the rough nature. I like the well emphasized texture of the cliffs and how you have arranged them in the frame. Having just rocks and the sea creates this rugged effect. This would be a good place for models session as warm skin of the body would go well with the rough rock.
Have a great weekend,

Ciao caro Donato,

Ciao Donato!
Thanks for your concern, friend, but no, I'm still very much the same & not good! Hope the medicines start taking effect from next week!
Nice light & you've composed well, even if there's no perceptible & strong focal point, the picture looks good. I would believe this is the very rock from which the guy jumped?

Hi Donato,
Your photo of these basaltic rocks is excellent. You make good use of the lighting conditions and that the rocks in the foreground are sunlit is perfect and it also very good that the sunlight was not very strong. I guess it was taken the evening. The not very strong lighting was also very good for creating depth. Your photo has indeed a very good depth and I like that you could see every detail in even the shaded areas in the background. I would say it is also a very good photo of basalt (such rock is not very common in my country) where could see what it looks like if you are pretty close as well as if you are at some distance. I could also imagine that the island of San Pietro was formed by a volcanic eruption a long time ago. TFS and have nice weekend!
Cheers,
Ulf

Hello Donato,
You have captured these multicolored and multi layered rocks very effectively. The height of the cliffs show nice depth of the image. I like the way these rocks glitter in the sun light. Well composed shot.

Hi Donato
A magnificent seascape I love how you have taken the view so close to the edge virtually to bottom of the frame with just the right amount as an effective foreground interest. It's a spectacular place, love the wonderful golden colours, shadows, colors tones, water ripples and textures of the formation. The contrast is fabulous. The foreground really pulls the eyes in and i like the way the cliffs give the sense of depth and drop leads you on and to far end. You certainly get a feel of height and scale of the place from this shot and love the effect created by the side lighting. Great detail and composition. Absolutely stunning work. Compliments!

Ciao donato,
So now I can comment this one; it was a good idea to put the link for another view here. Not only can I see how this scene fits with the other but I got a chance to see the other photo. I like the low light that warms and highlights the cliffs and I like the way you've framed this with a strong diagonal.

Hello Donato,
The horizontal striations in the rugged rocks are a testament to their age. You've captured the colors and textures beautifully. The coast appears to be reminiscent of photos I've seen of the western coast on Northern Ireland.

Ciao Donato,
Like you I did not realize until now that you had recently uploaded on TE, even 2 new ones! This is a beautiful photo of these special looking basalt rocks. Not only is it a joy for the eyes, but it also is a shot with great quality in all aspects. The POV is very well selected and the composition is excellent The beautiful low light has enabled the lovely warm colours and brought up the textures of the foreground rocks nicely. The definition is perfect. And last but not least, your photo conveys a lovely atmosphere along sea. My compliments!

Ciao Donato. I remember well this place from the other photo. Did you jump? :). Even if not, the place seems very dangerous and unstable with all those cracks. The point of view is wonderful and details on the foreground are very sharp and clear. Good colors and nice framing. A fine work my friend.
Have a nice day.

Ciao Donato,

Hi Donato, a dizzying perspective here. I don't like heights, so don't know if I could have taken this photo! Coincidentally, my sister's family spent a few months in Carloforte last year, so I imagine she saw views like this.
