Photographer's Note
Hello folks.
Today I’ll show you a photo from the old country road; the ‘via Appia antica’. As I can understand, this road is about 2500 years old! No wonder that it’s so worn! In the link you can read a lot more about this ancient road and there’s also a map of its path.
One of the days in our stay in Rome we took a bus out to the tomb of Cecilia Metella from where we walked approx 3 km on the ‘via Appia antica’ to the villa Quintili.
To this day the ‘Via Appia antica’ still contains the longest stretch of straight road in Europe: 62km.
Cars weren’t allowed to drive there except for those people who lived there and had permission. In the photo you can see, if you look close, a road sign. If you look in this WS you can see what’s on the sign.

Hey Per,
Beautifully done, great clarity, wonderful textures and sharpness, with pretty much nice colors - especially the greens. Nice, considering its postprocessed not much at all.
Enjoy.

Hej Per,
I like the point of view, resulting in this nice symmetrical composition!
The subject is interesting, and I can only imagine how it was to drive with the carts they had 2500 years ago...
Good details, and a wonderful feeling of depth!
Greetings,

Hej Per,
Very fine perspective, the road straight into the horizon! Very sharp and a lot of details. The Romans certainly could build roads that lasted 2000 years (even if it looks a bit bumpy). Maybe Vδgverket could learn something.

Hi Per, This is a famous Latin phrase. It seems to be a very bumpy road to ride along in any sort of transport. Good clarity and interesting notes. TFS. Murray.
