Bonjour Serge,
You are exactly right! Even in the thumbnail, I saw what looked like a very observant eye! Because its possible to see the wonderful decorations that surround the dome, and how the arches impinge upon the dome, to me, it feels far less like an eye, but very much a work of art. It's a very well exposed photograph.
Some people forget to look up when they are out with their cameras; in that case, just see what they would miss!

A wonderful photo of the interior of the basilica and its famous dome. Beautiful symmetry and rich colorus. The large paintings are nicely surrounded by all the gold.
