Photographer's Note

Yesterday a glacier. Today a volcano. Iceland is indeed full of contrasts. The stellar sunshine produced some very vivid colours. Could have used a wideer angle than my 18mm (28 equivalent). But I thin that I succeeded in at least suggesting the contours of this dramatic crater lake.

The bright green at by the lakeside is moss thriwing in the volcanic soil. The red colours on along the side are due to vast amounts of iron in it.

I was shoting into the light one this one. But I don't really mind hte burned out sky.
