Photographer's Note

Another photo of the streets and the old, colorful buildings on Castle Hill in Buda. This is the same street as in my earlier two photos ("Buda Streetscape" and "Buda Lamppost") but taken from the opposite end of the street (St. Matthias Church is behind me here). The large stone building with the ornate roof in the background houses government buildings, I was told. Roofs decorated in this way with colored shingles in intricate designs are often seen on churches and municpal buildings in Eastern Europe. I am looking forward to going back and spending more time in Budapest soon. It is an interesting city and much more colorful than I expected an ex-Communist country to be!

Technical: Enhanced with Shadows/Highlights and Contrast tools in PS, and cropped.
