Photographer's Note

It's hard to determine the exact chronical point when Democracy was first conceived as a concept. But it's easy enough to say where it all began. The classical Athens, back in 6th and 5th c. bC is the first ever place on earth to establish democracy in the way that more or less we undestand it today. It is fair to say that it began with defects (slavery was still on, for instance), and it surely was established in a far smaller scale than it is today. And yet, what happened in Athens during that "Golden Age", determined the idea of democracy as a universal value worth to fight for.
