Here's a confession: I don't like cats (or any other kind of pet, for that matter) but in Greece, I admit, the roving creatures had something. Greek cats are OK!

Hydra is a small island, located in the Aegean Sea between the Saronic Gulf and the Argolic Gulf. It is separated from the Peloponnese by narrow strip of water.
Apart from the odd rubbish truck, motorized vehicles are not allowed on the island, as cars or motorcycles. Public transportation (if necessary) is provided by watertaxi's, donkeys and ponies.

Hello Bennyy,
I have to admit that contrary to you I rather like cats. Regardless of that any black living creature found in this place would have looked great. Even a pair of black shoes would have done, but nothing beats having some life in a photo. It's in any case a very elegant and smart composition.

This shot has obvious graphical value. I think it's exelent in all it's simplicity. The purple door is just great. Lucky you the cat was black and not in t colors ... it would have been a different photo.

Fantastic composition, Benny. I'm usually a stickler for crispness, but the way that the cat is slightly blurred works wonderfully here.
I'm tempted to ask (jokingly!) how you got the cat to pose so perfectly!

I live in a small Greek island and cats are everywhere. Although I don't have any pets now, I like them and often stop in the street to photograph cats. They are interesting and give nice little stories. Your picture is superb, a rare capture where your timing and everything else worked so effectively to produce a fine graphical image. You cropped the scene wonderfully, there's movement, mystery, fine colours, great elegance. Congratulations and thank you!
