Photographer's Note
Vlychada Beach known as 'moon beach - lunar landscape' is located at the village of Perivolos. The high cliff formations along the beach making it even more interesting and secluded ( in the middle ) for naturists.
The pictures shown on WS2 - it has a small harbour closeby for those interested in yachts and boats. It's also the same stretch of coast not far away from the famous Red Beach.
The sea looks very nice for swimming or just sun-bathing. Not for me that day, because the weather was quite chilly so was the sea temperature I think.
As usual, I'll add 2 more in WS.
The question is have I chosen the right picture for the main?? :-)

Hello Loong,
These cliffs look amazing and have got wonderful shapes, which are seen perfectly clearly here in the bright sunlight. Good inclusion of the beach and the deep blue sea as well in the foreground.

Hello Loong,
In 1983 I travelled to Santorini. With a small boat from Ios to the small old port of Fira where a long path with stairs led from the waterfront to the town on top of the cliffs.
But I haven't seen this Moon Beach ... I wasn't even aware of its existence.
These cliffs actually look very special. Really a bit otherworldly.
You can't see in the picture that it was chilly. You would even think summer weather in Greece. On the other hand, it was already mid-October when you were there.
Your additional pictures are also very beautiful.
But your main photo shows the most pristine landscape.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Loong.
This is a very nice and unique looking scene indeed. A nice combination of the shoreline with the steep cliff beautifully carved in mixed patterns. Well seen and executed image, tfs.

Hi Loong
A spectacular photo of the cliffs. Great colour in the water but black beaches don't do much for me. For some reason the workshops wouldn't open for me.
cheers

Hello Loong,
Superbly allocated the picture space from the blue sea and the black soil beach, up the sheer cliff of the caldera.
One amazing island that I only saw from high above from a plane en-route to Italia.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Hello Loong,
It's often difficult which photo to use as a main upload, and there will always be conflicting opinions. This main photo gives us the best view of the amazing steep rocks, which especially in an enlarged version look rather strange. Strictly as a composition WS #2 has the advantage of using the front of the restaurant as a frame of the view. But who cares? Those who bother to look at additional photos can enjoy everything equally much.
Have a nice weekend.

Hi Loong,
Those rocks look as if they were slowly melting away. I have visited Santorini, but this beach looks quite different from what I saw elsewhere. Certainly worth visiting. A well framed view along the beach, and I agree with your choice of the main upload. Strong sharpening and JPG compression makes the image appearance somewhat compromised though.

Hello Loong, I was in Santirini many years ago , just a one-day trip from Crete, so I haven't seen much except of Fira nad Oia. I went also to some other small villages by car, but I had no idea of this spectacular beach. It looks really strange with this high rock wall. grom your picture it is not clear how to get there. But when there is restaurant, so it must be also the road. Spectacular place, much less visited than OIa. The photos in Workshops are also nice but I would also choose this as main one.
best regards Malgo.

Hello Loong, yes I think that you did choose the right one to post.
I find the rock formation really fascinating; it looks like layers of mud that have solidified; certainly a formation that I have never seen before.
Is the beach sand or pebbles?
Three interesting shots.
Thanks for posting, kind regards, Jean.

Hello Loong,
If I had been the judge, I would have struggled to separate these photographs on their quality! They are all very good exposures, well composed. The fact that you have posted them all, allows people to be their own judges!
That cliff is amazing!
It looks as if it has been sculptured by an indecisive stonemason! He changed his mind several times on the style and the pattern!
Now, I can't believe it was too cold for bathing! Just look at those figures, dressed only in swim suits, venturing into the water!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)
Thank you for your thoughtful critique on my recent photograph! No pigs, no sheep, I'm afraid but some cows & hens and field after field of tall maize plants.

Hello Ioong,
Very interesting rock formation. I imagined a castle that had been flooded with volcano lava which made wonderful pattern. The small beach with black sand made calm place for beach lovers.
Great presentation and superb quality.
Best regards,
Zbigniew
