Octagonal lighthouse built of tenarian marble.
Located in the middle-south of Peloponese, Gythio is a traditional harbour-town with a charming flair. Gythio lies protected from the five hills of the mountain Taygetos.
A charming addendurn to the attractions of Gythio is the island of "Kranai" which is now linked to the coast.
An interesting site on Kranai is the restored Tzannetakis Tower, a Maniot fortress-residence belonging to the Tzannetakis-Grigorakis families.
Also worth visiting are the chapel of Agios Petros and the octagonal lighthouse of 22 m height, built in 1873 of tenarian marble.
The photo was taken at 16:59 when the sun gifted us with a colorful sunset.

Nice warm colors and a beautyful lighthouse. The note is also very educative. I would like to see it having the lighthouse moved a little bit to the right (making it off-centre), and showing more from the land's end to the sea. But this is a detail. I like it this way. Great job.

Nice photo. I like the landscape and colors, and that little red cloud adds warmth to it. Very interesting note as well. I agree with Mathias that it might have been a better composition to capture more sea than land in this case.

Very fine colors and a beautiful lighthouse. But I think it can be even better so I try a WS.

You used a good camera, lens, tripod, f/6.7, 1/500 seconds. IMO all the conditions for a very sharp pic. However, if you look at the top of the trees, sharpness could be better. I have a problem with my Coolpix 5700 because when I use the zoom at its total lenght I have some lack of sharpness if I don'y use a tripod. But here you used a tripod. Not easy to understand. Regards.
