Nafplio view
One of the most beautiful towns in the area of Argolis (in eastern Peloponnese) as well as one of the most romantic cities all over Greece, Nafplio was the first capital of the newly born Greek state between 1823 and 1834ccording to mythology, the town was founded by Nafplios, the son of god Poseidon and the daughter of Danaus (Danaida) Anymone. The town’s history traces back to the prehistoric era when soldiers from here participated in the Argonautic expedition and the Trojan War alike. The town declined during the Roman times and flourished again during the Byzantine times. Frankish, Venetian and Turkish conquerors left their mark in the town and strongly influenced its culture, architecture and traditions during the centuries. Ancient walls, medieval castles, monuments and statues, Ottoman fountains and Venetian or neoclassical buildings mesmerize the visitor with their unique architecture and beauty.

Hello Costantino,
This is a very nice view of the narrow street and people gathered at a cafι. The red flowers provide a good foreground. I had to see when this was taken, considering that the mingling looks very pre-Covid, and found it's from last year. But was this really taken in August? Look at people's thick clothes! I have never seen people dressing like this in Greece in August. It must have been in winter!

I do believe what you said about this place. I could feel the romance in the air just by looking at this picture.
The picture of passion and affection - just as the lovely red flowers shown f/g.
No matter what seasons I'm sure this place will not stop people being romantic feeling good with each other company.

Hello Costantino,
You have selected a scene without your favourite sea but it captures a lovely sunny mood, before anyone knew about the dreaded disease!
The flowers set the colourful mood, assisted by the sunlight, whilst the converging lines of the narrow street, guide us effectively towards the focal figures.

Costantino, the restaurants and their terraces create a lot of activity in that alley. The picture has an excellent depth. The bougainvillea flowers add red hues to the photo. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

At first glance I was surprised at the thick winter coats and the sunny sky, but when I looked at the date of the photo, I understood.
Also in February people are drawn out lit by the beautiful weather and the beautiful red flowers.

I had the pleasure to visit Nafplio many years ago but without taking photos. I attended a conference on Spetses and on that occasion I visited Nafplio, Epidauros etc
What a lovely composition here with the red flower decorating the charming narrow street nicely.

Hi Costantino,
I like the bougainvillea flowers in the foreground, giving a good sense of depth. We get a feel for the place with the diners in the shadows on the right and the bright sunshine elsewhere.
