and sunset The existence of the Potidea Canal dates back to the 1st century AD. BC, while according to some sources it was opened by Kassandros in 315 BC, when at the site of ancient Potidea built Kassandria to facilitate navigation between Thermaikos Gulf and Toroneos and at the same time to fortify its city. The canal is 1.250 m long, 40 m wide and 8 m deep. During the Byzantine era, the area was called Doors and so is still called by the Halkidians. Along the canal there was a wall of towers at intervals, which secured even more from the land of Kassandra. The wall stretched in a nearly straight line, approximately 1,200 m long, from Thermaikos to Toronaios Bay. The canal had its current form in 1930 and in 1970 the bridge connecting the two shores was build.

A terrific sunset photo with punchy light contrasts and great silhouettes. Reasonable sharpness and effective tight framing. The clouds have acted as a natural filter. Good colour and saturation too. Tfs!

Many of your sunset photos have quite subtle colours but not this with the brilliant colour behind the boat silhouettes. A great one.

Excellent idea on sunset, maybe you had to place the camera on a ledge or other substitue of a tripod to gain more sharpness upon the marvelous scene.

The colours of sunset and reflections in the water make this an extremely eye-catching photo. That effect is enhanced by the contrasts created by the dark silhouettes. They have almost become abstract objects. You observed this photogenic opportunity well.

The colours of your sunset, contrasted with the silhouetted features, are extremely strong and very pleasing to the eye!
I like how the sun appears like an angel in the sky, and creates a long reflection across the sea, on the thirds line.
Perhaps, could be a little sharper ... but it is still eye-catching!
