Hi all,
This time, I share with you : the famous Porto Katsiki on Lefkada.
In many people their eyes the best beach on Lefkada island.
It's my favorite too. Although, for those who have been to Lefkada, I have to admit that I haven't been at Egremni beach, which also seems to be a nice beach..but..!
This beach was in the top 5 Best Beaches of the World! as from an American Magazine (don't know which magazine), just like Myrtos Beach on Kefalonia, which I posted a few days ago!
The beach is very clean, the water crystalbright and turqouiseblue, as you can see. It's a narrow beach, backed up by huge cliffs.
A stair, which you can see on the left, brings you down to the beach.
Handheld shot @ 1/15th just after sunset, the blue hour started. Cliffs still catching warm light from the direction where the sun melted into sea minutes ago. It was quite cloudy at that moment. We also heard thunder coming, but it didn't really break out..we heard it in the distance, but it didn't come closer or just fainted away. Some rain fell down..but you wouldn't call it rain probably, just a few drops. I was glad it didn't start to rain harder..because of my camera!!

* Some minorities removed.
Maybe should have done some saturation aswell.
By the way, all those dark green/black spots on the cliffs, it's vegetation growing on the cliffs. So it's not due to compression. There are area's where the vegetation is more visible.

Hello Emiel! Nice POV, it really emphasizes the great height of these cliffs. It's very interesting how the water has different shades of blue.

What a landscape!!!! Really a wonderful place to be, and a lovely photo to take.
Colours are really excellent, especially for the strong contrast of the 2 dominating ones: blue and green. Well done.
Very detailed note also, it gives more value to the shot.

Very striking shot Emiel, amazing are those colours of the water and the sky. Also the composition works well, large bold shapes of colour put together nicely.

Hi Emiel, i got the blue virus of ionion islands !! Wow how blue is the sea, i 'm so surprised to see that in mediteranee !
Good contrasts, perhaps a little lack of sharpness, but with a "far POV" it's not easy
Anyway this is a great picture, thanks to present it there :)

Great shot of Porto Katsiki. Bright colours and different shades as well.

Ongeloofelijk mooie kleuren en locatie. Zal wel flink waaien daar beneden. Ik zit me te bedenken hoe deze foto eruit zou zien als je daar bij een halve zonsondergang geweest was. Zou de zon achter de berg onder gaan? Erg goed!
