Lefkada, the island that enchants every visitor. The deep blue Ionian waters, the shinny sun and the sweet moonlight create the ideal scenery for unforgettable holidays.
The idyllic island of Lefkada belongs to the Ionian complex. It is the only island you can reach by car, also known as the land-rubber island. It is the forth in size Ionian island, with a 302,5sq.km. Only 100m from Akarnania, it is connected to it through a bridge.
Lefkada island along with Meganisi, Kalamos, Kasto, Scorpio, Madouri, Scorpidi, Thilia, Sparti and Kythro, consist the municipality of Lefkada. Lefkada town is the capital, while it is divided into six municipals and two communities.
The love of Aristotle Onasis towards this island, gave it international fame. It is not accidental that the Greek Croesus chose this island to create his personal paradise. Scorpios, Onasis’ island, which hosted some of the most important personalities of the international jet set, is right across Nydri.
Lefkada is the birthplace of our great poet Aristotle Valaoritis, as and our ecumenical poet Angelos Sikelianos.
Touring around the island can be a real surprise for every visitor. Porto Katsiki, Kathisma, Agios Nikitas, Nydri, Pefkoulia, Mylos, Skala Gialou, Agiofilli and Poros will impress the lovers of swimming with their clarity of waters.
You will feel instantly at home, as the traditional villages and their people welcome you at once. The town is modern and traditional at the same time. The historic center is ideal for long walks. Labyrinthine narrow paths and historic buildings, all take you back to past times.
The whole island is a natural site. Worth visiting are the coastal settlements and the hilly villages. Many rare species of birds, flowers and mammals live in the island’s mountains. Caves, water falls and sources are some of the sites you have to photo. The island is famous for the needlework and webs made by women in Karya. Don’t miss buying one and decorate your house.
Try the local cuisine, based on pure local products. It will leave you with the best of impressions. In the taverns all around the island you will taste bourdeto, bakaliaros, maridopita, frigadeli, as and various kind of pies.

The two boats form a very strong FG and even the boats behind are well photogarphed with plenty of detail. The wispy clouds in the sky are lovely and the whole scene looks beautiful and welcoming - very well done.

Photo originale et trθs bien rιalisιe. Cette barque en avant-plan, lιgθrement dιcentrιe, avec le petit drapeau grec et la bβche jaune sont superbes. En arriθre-plan, les bateaux, avec les longs mats verticaux, au "garde-ΰ-vous", alignι sont du plus bel effet. Joli ciel lιgθrement polarisι, trθs beau.

Hello Vasilis,

What immediately grabs one's eye is the set of parallel masts of the sailing boats in the marina. You've chosen a very good vantage point, standing exactly behind a small fishing boat with the yellow canvas adding a strong highlight. I remember reading about Aristotle Onasis and his presence on this island.

Hi Vasilis,

I think the yellow awning highlight in the photo and contrast very well with the blue sky. I like the point of view with the two ropes holding the boat. Nice photo of this marina.
