Photographer's Note

The "Kalogeriko" stone bridge is one of the dozens of stone bridges to be found in the picturesque region of Zagori, in Epirus, Greece. In the old days the stone bridges were essential to the communication among the villages of the region, which due to the tough geomorphology was quite difficult. The local craftsmen, most of them uneducated and simple people, achieved miracles working on the stone, creating constructions that still stand today as pround as always.
