Photographer's Note

I was taking a short walk around Zenia, one of the many picturesque villages on the road from Neapolis, to Lasithi Plateau. I saw an old man waving at me and inviting me for raki. Mr. Manolis Mprokos, 102 years old, once was a very famous instument's constructor, specialized on the traditional Cretan instrument, the lyra. His wife, 93 years old, a housewife, is still taking care of him. While she was preparing the meal, I was impressed by her "weather-beaten" and deformed hands. I thought that these hands could tell us more about her life than her face.
