Photographer's Note
Better know as "Στύλοι του Ολυμπίου Διός" ("Stili tou Olympiou Dios") is one of the major atractions of the city of Athens. It was propably the largest temple of the ancient world. Located close to the Acropolis, which you can see in the background. Some info from WIKIPEDIA:
"The Temple of Olympian Zeus (Greek: Ναός του Ολυμπίου Διός or Naos tou Olimpiou Dios), also known as the Olympieion, is a colossal ruined temple in the centre of the Greek capital Athens that was formerly dedicated to Zeus, king of the Olympian gods. Construction began in the 6th century BC during the rule of the Athenian tyrants, who envisaged building the greatest temple in the ancient world, but it was not completed until the reign of the Roman Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD some 650 years after the project had begun. During the Roman periods it was renowned as the largest temple in Greece and housed one of the largest cult statues in the ancient world.
The temple's glory was shortlived, as it fell into disuse after being pillaged in a barbarian invasion in the 3rd century AD. It was probably never repaired and was reduced to ruins thereafter. In the centuries after the fall of the Roman Empire, the temple was extensively quarried for building materials to supply building projects elsewhere in the city. Despite this, substantial remains remain visible today and it continues to be a major tourist attraction.

Hrecules, it has ben many many years since I saw this sight and it is as beautiful as I remember. You evening capture is very nice indeed and the colors are wonderful. I wound not have thought of capturing them in the same shot, I remember the walk between them and your angle to see both is great.

Yeah,
I would definitely pay for this.
A great poster for antiquity lovers (like me)
The sky is perfect, the lighting is very nice, and this great temple (mainly shadowed by the grandeur of Acropolis) is perfectly glorified by you. It should be used for the advertisement of Athens.

hi Hercules
Exposure of 6s gives good brightness to the temple with good sharpness and details in the columns from f/11. Gradient of sky color really provides a great backdrop in this composition. In long exposure, it is always difficult to avoid spotlights glare.
I like this capture.

hello Hercules
there is a wonderful luminosity giving golden and shinig colours to the columns of the temple!I like the sky going from blue to pink, but what I find truly amazing is the blach part at the bottom, doing that the temple seems to float in the air!Superb!

Hola Hercules:

Hello Hercules,
It is good to critique your photos again as they are always high quality and well composed. The slow shutter certainly let in those beautiful lights and allowed superb showcasing of the temple. I could easily see this image as the cover of a travel book or magazine. Best regards, Danilo

Hello Hercules,
Wow ! This is the picture for a magazine or a guidebook of Athens.
I have visited the Temple of Zeus and the Akropolis of course but for some strange reason I didn't think at this POV ... Too bad.
Well, your picture is wonderfull.
The blue hour gives it the beautiful colour, the composition is perfect, the picture is clear, the columns are very sharp.
Congratulations !

Hey I know this place! I saw it from the top of Acropolis... And I am not sure but I might have seen it from Lykavittos Hill. Am I right or mixing up all temples I've seen lately???
Temple and the statues seem extremely huge and fascinating from this point of view. I feel little jealousy for blue hour photos because I haven't took a nice one yet...
With Acropolis seen behind, it will definitely look quite nice on a Athens Guide or magazine... Or have you done something like that already? :)
Best,
Burcu

Hello Hercules,
it's great to see this trademark of Greece against this beautiful blue hour sky, and with the other temple as a background.
Although a large part of it has disapeared it's still a wonder and a fantastic rememberance of the ancient times.
Cheers.

Hello Hercules,
The Temple of the Olympian Zeus, with its Corinthian capitols — your note explains well the fact that the colossal temple was begun in much earlier times but completed under Emperor Hadrian (otherwise it would displayed Doric capitols). Absolutely magical scene. I passed through the area on August 24, just seven weeks afterwards.
Warm regards,
Bulent

When I was walking around the Olympeion in May 1966, there were wild artichokes growing on the ground around the temple. I wish I had taken a photo, lying on the ground with my instamatic camera, because it was such a beautiful view of the natures creation in the foreground and this impressing human creation in the background. Are there still any wild artichokes there? Please check and if so, download a photo. Tfs this beautiful picture!
