Photographer's Note
Photo taken from Lykabettous Hill, on the same evening that I took some of my previous posts (Have a seat and Athens at your feet!, Greece, the cradle of Democracy? and Athens is burning), an evening with the clearest atmosphere I can remember in Athens, for the last couple of years. I could see, very clearly Acropolis and the Parthenon, behind that, the port of Piraeus, and even further, the island of Salamina, in Saronikos Gulf.
I wish Happy, Prosperous New Year to everybody, with love, good health and more peaceful days, although these last days with the Israeli attack against martyric Palestine don't leave space for optimism!

A beautiful evening shot. The sky looks amazing and even the most minute details of the city can be made out. Well composed shot as well with the Acropolis standing just the right place.

great night shot of your city to send your wishes for 2009. Good exposition control. Lights of cities have some magic.
Athens has also known some tense moments this month ; children, youths, workers, public servants, unemployed, retired people; poor ones, women, disabled people, immigrants, gays... could hope a better year 2009, all around the world. Especially in counrties under war. We can hope with them.

Preciosa foto para despedir el aρo viejo y recibir el 2009. Perdona que estoy atrasado pero estaba en las montaρas de Polo pasando las fiestas de aρo nuevo. Atenas es una ciudad preciosa en cualquier ιpoca del aρo y tu la has captado desde un excelente POV pudiendo apreciar sus bellos colores y su gran esplendor.
