Photographer's Note
Again and again I come back to Bonn, my favorite city ...
Here I show you the facade of the old Bonn town hall - seen from the lively market place. It was built in 1737/38 by Michel Leveilly, the master builder of the elector and archbishop of Cologne Clemens-August. His one-family-house is only some streets away. I think you should know the complete name of this distinguished personality: Clemens August I. Ferdinand Maria Hyazinth of Bavaria.
In the 42 years lasting history of Bonn as the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany, many prominent politicians from all over the world took a speech at the outside staircase in front of the main entrance, such as for example De Gaulle, Kennedy, Queen Elizabeth, Gorbatschow and many many others.
Today this wonderful building is used for representative events and festivities.
Here you can see a very special view of the town hall.
In the workshop you can see the town hall from another angle.
Using the map view function at the left you can zoom in (please click at "satellite" and several times at +) exactly to the city hall with the market place. South of it you can see the huge castle of the archbishop and elector Clemens-August with the park.

Hello Frank,
The gold details on the building lok great. They create a nice contrast to the soft pink tones. Very effective perspective with a low point to capture the facade in a dynamic manner. The lamp post is a nice inclusion and not distracting at all. Thanks Frank.

Hello Frank,
Whenever I think of Bonn I recall the spy novel by John Le Carrι "A Small Town in Germany". A very nice capture of this impressive architecture. I like the unusual angle of view and the inclusion of the lamp. The tones and architectural detail are brought out to great effect.

Nice presentation of your favourite town. Maybe light could be better, but you managed it very properly.

Hallo Frank,
Schφnes Wchenende

Hi Frank,
I don΄t there is finer architecture than that from the 18th century. This is a very beautiful building, very typical for this century.
An impressive photo!

Hallo Frank,
