Photographer's Note
"The visitors", "Les Visiteurs", title of a film, but than the other way round. Here in Bernkastel new meets old. The medieval streets and buildings are visited by the 20th century by maens of this car. Completely out of place in these surroundings. If ever yoy visit this medieval town try to be there bfore 9 a.m., i.e. before the tourisdt busses and - boats let loose there thousands of sweaty tourists, aded with camera's and cam-corders. All day long they roam the small cobbled streets and occopy the terasses of the local eat- and drink houses, surrendering this old city along the Moselle river to its well deserved rest around 9 o'clock p.m.

A beautiful average through some hundred years of architecture, John.
A very colorful atmosphere, unbelievable calm for this place!
Lots of red flowers on the windows, green in the street. You fixed a nice corner; well done.

Hey, this is "my street", John !
I have nearly the same picture and..... my last shot is a part of that house, THAT'S funny, what a coincidence !
This is such a nice street, but always crowded with tourists, that's a pity.
Wonderful light and colours you have here and nice details and textures !

Hi John. Very pretty view on this street. The house is really beautiful! From your note I understand that you included the car on purpose to add contrast between new and old. To be honest, I would have liked it better without the car and without the people on the right.

Compliments.
Daniel.

A pleasant framing for this photo, John, with a nice view towards the bending cobblestone road with the half-timbered architecture. Great summer light and beautiful colors. Yes, the blue car indeed looks a little incongruous - but at the same time adds a link into the contemporary time that I like. A nice one from your archives, thanks for sharing.

Great composition, John. I like the beautiful bright colours and the classic architecture. Without the car it would be perfect, but these things can't be helped. Interesting note. Well done.

Hello, John! What a beautiful place! Not so far from my place, I think - worth wisiting. Seems like it is from the child's tale. The picture is perfectly exposed and full of details... pitty, that a car has driven into the cadre.
Good job!
regards,
Grzegorz

This really looks a very beautiful place and I understand why there are so many tourists visiting it. In fact, that car looks out of place and if I had to wish for something in this photo it would be two or three people strolling in his place. A good option would be to select it and desaturate the strong blue to make it less intrusive even more because it is in a strong point of the composition.
Another thing that I find out of place are those metallic chairs. I think it would be very nice that in these historical places the street furniture would be more traditional, made of wood to fit the place. In Portugal it’s something that annoys me to and ruins some photos even if in this case they don’t.

Hi John,
I love this composition with all the elements and colours it has to offer. The house at center it most unusual.
I think the image could use a bit of sharpening, it's a bit soft.
