Photographer's Note
English Garden (Englischer Garten) was created in 1789 by Sir Benjamin Thompson (who decided to turn the hunting grounds on the River Isar into a public park),later Count Rumford (Reichsgraf von Rumford) and extended and improved by his successors, Reinhard von Werneck and Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell and Carl Theodor.
The English Garden is both beautifully designed and historically very important as the first public garden on the Continent. With its generous dimensions and constantly changing views of park architecture and landscape features, with its enclosed spaces and the play of light and shade, the English Garden is an outstanding example of a classical landscape garden.
I was amazed by the beauty of the Garden, its vast territory, nicely preserved and maintained design and how modern elements are flawlessly embedded into natural environment.

Hi Mike,
This image is clear. I like the fact that the park seem almost deserted. Good colours and interesting contrast of cultural elements. Good work Mike...On holidays next week before my last climbing trip of the season :-)
