Photographer's Note

In wide parts of Germany, April 2021 has been the coldest April since 1980. Many days with minima below zero, maxima below 20°C (except for the first two days) and snowshowers until mid-month.
This was taken on Easter Monday on Remagen Rhine Esplanade. A cold wind was blowing. In the background: Erpeler Lay.
To the right, you can see a black structure which was the tunnel entrance of a railway line leading directly towards Ludendorff Bridge - the towers of which unfortunately are out of frame. This was the first place where U.S. troops set their feet on right Rhine bank in March 1945. The bridge collapsed several days after.
