Photographer's Note
There have been three great floodings in Ahr valley in the last two centuries: 1804, 1910 and 2021.
St. Nepomuk Bridge at Rech was constructed after 1804, survived 1910 as one of only two intact bridges, but did not survive 2021: arch no. 4 collapsed.
Despite the historic value, the bridge will be torn down as the risks given by four narrow arches will no more be tolerated in the future.

Hi Sven,a real shame that the old bridge will be demolished, this time it did not survive completely and the decision was drastic, certainly better for safety but unfortunately a piece of history that goes away. Very useful post as always! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano
