Photographer's Note
This is a view of the nave of Bonn Cathedral.
The antecessor of this collegiate church was a roman necropolis of the second century, which was replaced in the 6th century by a hall which already was used as a church. It was built amongst others out of the rests of the roman altar building. At the end of the 7th century this place was linked with the legend of the martyrs Cassius and Florentius.
The today's church was built in the 11th century and it was inaugurated in 1153. The building implies Romanesque and Gothic elements but the interior decoration is ruled by baroque.
In 1956 the cathedral received the title "basilica minor".
If you click at "map view" at the left you can zoom down (+) to the cathedral. You can see it's steeple's shadow on the Cathedral Square in the middle of Bonn.

This is a nice view, the colors are very good and the shadow of the people is an interesting extra.
Greetings from a rainy Netherlands.

Hallo Frank,
sehr interessant!

Hello Frank.
Thats a fine capture of this Cathedral.
Its not easy to make a good exposure in this kind of light, but this was excellent and well balanced. I like this diagonal persepective.
The only thing to complain about is the slightly unsharp person down there, but you could probably not ask him to stand still.. Anyway, he is doing well to show us the size of the wall.
