Photographer's Note
This is one of the numerous market stalls of the wonderful and picturesque Christmas market of Bonn. It sells a very typical German pastry delicacy - "Lebkuchenherzen". The English word for Lebkuchen -according to the dictionary- is "gingerbread" but I do not know the taste of it - but very well the taste of Lebkuchen.
All these hearts have some brilliant inscription, such as "For my beloved mother-in-law" or - very inventive, "I love You", or "For my hero!" or "Forgive me!"
Most of them are eaten - but some of them make a career as a wall decoration ... ;-)

Hallo Frank. Ich muss sehr staunen όber Dein heutiges Photo. Warum?

Hello Frank,
A lovely set of chocolate, cakes and sweeties to get the Christmas season off to a good start. The gentleman at the stall seems to be having difficulty in deciding which ones to purchase. A very good topical daily life image. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Hi Frank,
A detailed and typical photo of a German Christmas market. We also have these 'cookies' in Sweden, we call them 'pepparkakor (Pfefferkuchen)'. I believe they taste the same...
Merry Christmas and regards

Good morning from Raleigh Frank,
We, too, have been eating our fare share of Lebkuchen here in Raleigh. We may not have typical Christmas markets (actually, the farmers market is not all that different), but we have a couple of Aldi stores. ;-) As long as the dollar doesn't sink much lower, we'll still be importing from Germany.
TFS and have a good day.

Hallo Frank,
I'm wondering whether they sell more "I love You" than "For my beloved mother-in-law" ;-)
Too bad about the weather, I like how this store is overloaded with sweety stuff, still this image would look better taken at night I guess.
Merry Christmas !

Hi Frank,
Christmas markets are now well established all over Europe I think and so are the German 'Lebkuchen'. The photo is very representative for the numerous market stall I have had the pleasure of seeing these past days.
