Photographer's Note
Yesterday I visited Bonn and it was an amazing experience because it was a day-trip to spring.
I live in Siegen in southern Westphalia in an altitude of 330 metres and I started there in the morning at 9 a.m. when temperature was -4°C. One and a half hours later, 280 metres lower and about 70 kilometres westward temperature was +10°C and as you can see many many people resolved to have a sunbath.
In the afternoon at 5 p.m. temperature at home was +2°C.
For some hours I experienced spring ...
My photo was taken on Mόnsterplatz (Cathedral square) in the city centre of Bonn. Left hand you can see Beethoven monument and in background the historic post office.

ja so ist das mit den bevorzugten Niederungen entlang des Rheines, da herrschen schon "spόrbare" Unterschiede, das merke ich jeden Morgen auf neue, wenn ich aus dem Wald hinaus an den Rand der Rheinebene komme..

Guten morgen Herr Nachbar,
Um Bruchteile einer Sekunde verpasst aber dennoch naeher beieinander.
Man sieht ganz deutlich, die Leute haben's den laaaaangen Winter satt und benutzen jeden Sonnenschein.
Schoene taegliche Szene im Schatten von Herr Beethoven.
Jetzt faellt mir auf, Ludwigs Name klingt sehr sehr Hollaendisch, oder ?

You keep trying to convince yourself Frank - I hope that you are right but I think you need the umbrellas to be up.
That said this is a good photo of people in jackets (keeping warm) hoping for spring - the composition is good with good background architecture.

This is a nice shot of this lively square. The inclusion of the Beethoven statue (one of my favorite composers) is a good addition for the shot. The yellow post office provides nice contrast for the fine blue sky.

Good to see that spring has arrived somewhere at last :-) The cafe goers are dressed up against the cold but at least they can take advantage of the spring sunshine to take a rest and have a refreshing drink. A pleasing animated composition with good colours and sharpness. We are still having to endure a bitterly cold wind.

Good Morning Frank, See don't give up Spring will arrive for your area soon. This is a very pleasant shot, making me wish I were there with maybe a Kaffee or Bier at my table. This looks like a popular place, I hope you stopped here also. I was in Bonn on the day the Wall came down in Berlin. It is a lovely place and you have done it well with this shot. BTW, I guess one is always learning, I was unaware that Beethoven was from Bonn. OC, I looked him up in Wikepedia and found that. Have a great day. I am sure it is night there as I write this. Good evening, Frank.
For several days looking for these climates around them, but in vain. Today, even the sky was blue with white churkami, but it was also very cool. I think the spring will visit in a week or ten days ... Looking at this picture, I believe that here is a spring and spring atmosphere. Although most clients are warmly dressed in a cafe, but the waiter shocking strolling in his shirt. Nice staff, quiet and very optimistic.

Good light and sharp view of the Mόnsterplatz. In fact, it is like a summer or spring view. But things are relative indeed; those +10ΊC would be a cold winter morning in Lissabon.

Hi Frank,
very wintry atmosphere: everybody in a thick jacket. I like the extraordinary light here which make the colors a bit washed out but it introduces this interesting cold atmosphere. It seems like a sunny but very cold day.
Very attractive composition. I would love to have a tea break in the square!

Und gerade an diesem Tag hat es bei uns geschneit! Total absurd, aber langsam gewφhnen wir uns an Absurditδten, seien sie von klimatischer, wirtschaftlicher oder politischer Natur. Es ist allerdings schφn zu sehen, dass es noch Orte in der Welt gibt, wo die Normalitδt herrscht - Mitte Mδrz genieίt man einfach den Frόhling.

Hi Frank, What a nice view from Bonn! All the people here are really enjoying some sunny moment. Nice blue tone of the sky and umbrellas - no nedd to open them yet. The winter this year lasts too long! I think everyone is waiting impatiently for spring. Alas, in vain as yet. We have snow again in Warsaw today.

Hallo Frank,
There is spring in the air, although the clothing of the people tells that it was still somewhat chilly. A nice shot from this quite cosy looking corner of Bonn. A good POV and composition. The rows of umbrellas give a nice perspective effect. Very beautiful colours. The statue of Beethoven is well placed. TFS!
