Photographer's Note
Couldn't resist to post a picture of Munich's major event these days, the Oktoberfest (or Wiesn, for short). The picture is taken from the large ferris wheel, looking down towards the statue of Bavaria. Just a few of the huge beer halls (tents) are visible, there are 14 alltogether, with space for 98,000 visitors. This weekend alone, about one million visitors are expected. Half a million chicken and 90 oxen have been eaten here last year. Living rather close to it, I enjoy watching the construction of the tents, which always starts as early as July . But after the two weeks, it's nice to have a calm neighborhood again ...

Hi Oliver, ich hatte eine δhnliche Idee, mal Oktoberfest-Bilder bei TrekEarth zu zeigen. Aber du warst schneller :-))
The picture doesn't look shaken even though the long exposure time. With the main street going from the top left to the right bottom corner, the composition is good too. But I had cropped off some of the top dark part.

Hallo Oliver, groίe Menschenmassen schrecken miche eher ab deshalb war ich auch noch nie auf der Wiesn ... aber diese Bild aus der Ferne sieht recht hόbsch aus! :-) Guter Blickfang, schφne Nachtaufnahme.
