Photographer's Note

The Zwinger is a strange palace and it's structured around a huge central square, which is surrounded on all sides by baroque pavilions and galleries. We do not dare to qualify it as a castle, because it does not fit in majesty. Moreover, no ruler ever nor any noble person lived there.

It was not until the mid-nineteenth century that the belt construction of buildings was achieved by Gottfried Semper, which will become the receptacle of the Old Masters gallery, magnificent art exhibition. And the style of the exterior frontage is a perfect agreement with the nearby Opera House, with its center a large porch: enter!
