Photographer's Note
Dresden Frauenkirche, or more precisely Kirche zu unser Liebfrauen, is German equivalent to Church of Our Lady. Interestingly I have heard sometimes a direct translation “church of women”. It is a correct linguistically translation, if you don’t know the history. The word Frauen means (plural) women as opposed to singular Frau, but in the phrase “Kirche zu unser Liebfrauen” it does not refer to plural but rather it is in Dativ, which is the third declination case in German language. It is a concept quite hard to explain in English because, in contrary to most European languages, English does not do declination of nouns.
There are at least three famous Frauenkirchen. Frauenkirche is the highest church in Munich, and one of the most beautiful churches in Nuremberg. Dresden Frauenkirche is also quite unique. It has completely collapsed during the WWII, and as few other churches in Germany, it was left in ruins as a war memorial. Recently, Lars showed another example of such ruined church, die Gedaechtniskirche in Berlin. After the fall of Berlin Wall, Dresden Frauenkirche was rebuilt and is again one of the main attractions of Dresden old town. Interesting fact: the black stones which you can see between the white ones, originate from the ruins of the original church, they were, as you can imagine, distributed throughout the structure randomly. I supposed I could have used another title here “reborn from the ashes”. May be I will use it for another picture of this beautiful church.
Recently, you may have seen it in photo from Benny. Interestingly this year I have visited Dresden on July 30th, Lars and Ron on August 2nd and Benny on August 12th. I guess we should coordinate better next time :)

Hello Mariusz, how fantastic that the cathedral was rebuilt, and an excellent idea to use some of the blackened stones from the ruins of the previous building.
An excellent composition with the foreground trees and their shadows framing the cathedral so perfectly.
It was quite busy with people the day that you were there, they add scale and colour to your picture.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Mariusz,
I lerant this cathedral, as many buildings around this location, were re-built after WW2 with a master-engineering job, marking each stone were found and meticulously mounted back.
Excellent distant POV, through the near trees and good scale by the many people around it.
Good afternoon,
Ike

Ah, Mariusz, that's a scene I recognize very well :)
Strange how with different light the church takes on a completely different colour. It was really yellow when we visited it! No tricks, no magic...but sunlight!

Hi Mariusz, the composition and the house facades reminds me a lot the main square of Krakow that i saw 2 years ago. But obviously the Dresden church make the difference, wonderful architechture, the trees are like an open door to the view, impressive brightness another time! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Mariusz,
Apparently, without knowing it, Dresden was the place to be for TrekEarth members this summer. A great shot of the Frauenkirche in a wonderful sunlight here and framed perfectly by the green trees. The surrounding square and houses make a great scenery.

Hello Mariusz,
I was intrigued by this church when I saw it in Benny's photo. Now I can compare and contrast his view with yours. :-) The colors are softer here, and I like the inclusion of the trees and their shadows in the foreground. No matter what the POV, this church is very photogenic. Take care!

Hi Mariusz,
A nice architecture for church as focal point but also with these facades, well framed with trees on each side, pleasant sunlight well captured, perfect for the colors rendering, tfs.

Hi Mariusz,
A well composed photo, with the church placed in between the trees. Good sharpness all over. Maybe the midtones could be a little darker to bring out the colours more.

Hello Mariusz,
I imagine it would be even harder than normal to co-ordinate visits with other TE members because of the Covid problems. Countries become available or restricted on a daily basis and holidays could suddenly become available on a whim!
This is an exceptionally sharp photograph with a excellent sense of depth.
I like how you have framed the church with the leafy branches of the tree, yet there are interesting items outside them, like the bicycles, the disabled car and the pastel coloured buildings, to ensure that we explore all the photograph, after concentrating on the church.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Mariusz, it was a great initiative to rebuild that church using building materials of the ruin. It comprises a massive dome, a clock and a tower. The square around it attracts many visitors and it s a meeting point in Dresden. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Mariusz,
This beautiful church has been shown several times on TE.
However, it is the very first time that I see a photo where the church is framed between trees. So far, I assumed that there would be little green space in the center of Dresden.
These trees may have been planted not very long ago. They still look a bit fragile but the shadow of their foliage fills well the empty space on the central foreground.
Despite the corona problems, there were many people on the square.
The other buildings make this place look very picturesque.
A beautifully thought-out composition, attractive summer colours (Maybe you only go to Germany when it is sunny there).
Perfect sharpness and clarity.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Mariusz,
I see in this beautiful picture that it was a little sunnier three days before Lars and I visited Dresden, although the sun also broke for us later.
When I took pictures from this side I stood a few meters forward and overlooked the frame of the trees.
Excellent work
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Hello Mariusz.
This square is beautiful and spacious, where the church looks majestic with its large dome and huge windows, the chosen POV ideal, framing it among the green of the trees
Excellent lighting, color and sharpness to enjoy the details.
Very good work. I like it
Enjoy a happy Sunday.
Very best regards.

Hello Mariusz,
Yes, the shortened name is misleading without knowing the proper name. It is a beautiful church building and i like the way you framed it with the trees.
