Valdivienne is a French commune, located in the department of la Vienne of the Poitou-Charentes area, populated of 2308 Valdiviennois, distributed on 62 km, that is to say 38 h/km.

The commune of Valdivienne is created in 1969 by the fusion of Morthemer, Salles-de-Toulon and Saint-Martin-la-Rivire then followed by la Chapelle-Morthemer.

The village is on the hillsides on which the castle is drawn up, and dominates the course of la Dive river, at its feet.

Morthemer was the first baronnie of Poitou, and is also one of the most beautiful villages of Poitou. The village preserves old houses of XVe XVIIe centuries.
In the cemetery, one can see a cross hosannire of romanesque style.
