Saint-Etienne church of XIIe century, Romanesque style.
As in much of romanesque churches, the vault during centuries pushed back the walls and caused a slope of the walls towards outside.

Inside, one finds an altar of the XVIIe century in drowning carved, flanked of four twisted columns of the same wood.
Outside, the war memorial of 1923, under the tilleul of Sully, "lime of Sully", is partly made up of an old dolmen.

Esse is a french commune, located in the department of Charente of the area of the Poitou-Charentes, populated of 497 Essois, distributed on 30 km, that is to say 16 hab./km.
