Cascade of the Vis river.

The Vis is a small river, abundant but very irregular. Supplied with its catchment area, its risings can be extremely important. November 8, 1982, the maximum instantaneous flow was 542 m³, five hundred and forty two m³, a second, in Saint-Laurent-le-Minier for a rising hardly of a decennial nature, banal and by no means exceptional.
Tributary of Herault, a 30 km length. It takes its source on the Saint-Guiral mount in the solid mass of Aigoual. It disappears in the ground with Larcy whereas its flow reaches 50 l/s. Approximately 15 km further, it goes on surface in a résurgence with Vissec, with the mill of Lafoux with a flow of 1200 to 2500 l/s. Its affluents are in major undergrounds part. the Vis erodes the basement, provocative constantly underground crumblings able to stop its course of the hours, even days, as in 1779, 1890, 1927 and 1961. Its exploration, appears difficult and dangerous in a water with 11 ° and a very strong current. The Vis then impressed its bed of surface in impressive canyons reaching 300 m of depth dug in plates limestones called causses, of which the Causse of Larzac, crossing the imposing site of the Circus of Navacelles. It follows its torrential course giving its energy to an electric micro-power station in Madières, and its purity with some pisciculture with trouts of quality, then is thrown in Herault in Ganges.
Saint-Laurent-le-Minier is a French commune, located in the department of the Gard of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 362 Laureniers, distributed on 13 km², that is to say 27 hab./km².
Medieval mines of gold and silver gave its name to the village. These mines mentioned by old acts left underground and galleries. From 1857 up to 1950, one has to continue to extract copper, siver-bearing lead, iron, and zinc.

Bonjour Joel,
joli POV avec un effet agréable du à l'rrondi de la chute et au contraste calme/tumulte avant/après la chute. Les couleurs sont automnales mais il manque peut-être un tout petit peu de lumière (peut-être en jouant sur les niveaux).

Wonderful POV having this fantastic curve of the fall in the capture. Both workshops add a lot with the different amount of water and POVs. The texture of the falling water is very well done.

Hello,
quelle chutte d'eau, slpendidie, toute en fond, en général, elle souvent droite, mais là il y un belle courbe, avec de belle couelurs, un beau petit buissons dans le cadrage, l'eau blanche, l'écume qui tranche, superbe.

Il ya une petite chute de la vis au fond du Cirque de Navacelles mais plus difficile à atteindre.
On remarque ici que la chute a été travaillée par l'homme.
Le point de vue est bien choisi et cela donne envie de visiter.

Cette cascade est plus jolie sur cette photo que dans ses moments de furie comme tu nous le montres sur la photo complémentaire !!! J'aime bien ce point de vue sur l'arrondi de cette chute d'eau. Le premier plan cristallin est très agréable et prend bien la lumière. C'est une image reposante et merci pour la note fort bien documentée comme à ton habitude.
