Photographer's Note
If you have been inside here you will know that the Church Taliban won't let you take a photo for love nor money. Hence, set the camera up, put it on timer and place it somewhere and off you go. But no, they even heard the shutter going off at 10m. Nearly gave up and was on my way out when I decided to have another go. Set the tilt to up and placed it on the floor and set it off when there were only a few people around. The ghosts are the ones who were still there.
Info on Basilica;
The Basilica
Sacrι-Cur is built of travertine stone quarried in Chβteau-Landon (Seine-et-Marne), France. This stone constantly exudes calcite, which ensures that the basilica remains white even with weathering and pollution.
A mosaic in the apse, entitled Christ in Majesty, is among the largest in the world.
The basilica complex includes a garden for meditation, with a fountain. The top of the dome is open to tourists and affords a spectacular panoramic view of the city of Paris, which is mostly to the south of the basilica.

Well worth the effort Mark. Composition in these cases is always a bit hit of miss, but this is excellent. The "ghost" is excellent and looks almost medieval somehow! You have really captured the atmospher very well and the natural light from above provides some welcome contrast.

Well done Mark but I'm not so sure I would want to risk having my camera confiscated by the local Taliban. Good shot of the interior. The ghost effect is a nice touch.

it's a very good photo, even in the difficult circumstances! great light and i do like the ghosts. in situations like this i also cannot settle with "you cannot take photos" oh no ? watch me !!! and then i just click the buttom with my camera hanging on my neck, looking the other way and being very innocent ...

IL y a une belle et ιtrange atmosphθre dans celle-ci ! Un rien fantomatique c'est vrai, avec ces silhouettes presque invisibles sur la droite et des teintes ambiantes qui apporte une ambiance de mystθre...
C'est rιussi !

Hello Mark,
I saw this image late late last night as it was first logged in. I like the image and the engaging note, especially since I've never been above producing some surreptitious photographs. Each time, I've felt guilty until I saw the results of the photo, like the Venetian Renaissance painting that you recently critiqued for me. This is a very effective photograph, with a ghostly and mysterious atmosphere.
Warm regards,
Bulent
