Photographer's Note
Clues
In the land of advertising life is very simple. Just get an education and you’ll succeed in life and get a nice vodka when you fancy one. It’s just question of choice and balancing options.
Well in real life it's of course far more complicated then that. In our meritocratic society the distribution of chances and choices still leaves a lot to be desired.
For the non-francophone: the text on the advertisement on the right in the train is of a company that offers education at home and the slogan is: “Succeed, it’s a question of method”
“Clues” is an album form Robert Palmer. Released in 1980 on Island.
The process: I had framed the two advertisements ‘cause of the contrast in content when I saw a man approaching and envisioned his place in the frame and waited for him to be there.
The tech: in addition to my standard PCS3 work flow I first ran Noiseware and then altered the saturation, contrast, curves and levels for the whole pic and some elements separately, using different layers, enhanced the edges, USM-ed (a 5 step method loosely based on the script of Luko and the adaptation of Adrian Warren), added a frame and resized and did a gentle USM (1,8px, 20%) again.

Hello Bert:
It is an image that seems easy and simple ... but it is necessary to be there and to be able to see her to capture her, I like this inclination, the color and especially these two parts of the image ... inside and out of the train.
Congratulations and see you soon.
A greeting.

Hi Bert,
Your post processing work is masterly here. We I read the note I feel that you are a really good photographer you saw in advance what would happen and then when the man was in the natural frame you shoot. An excellent and very creative job. TFS and have a nice week end!
Cheers,
Ulf

Hallo Bert,
Groeten,
John.

Hi Bert
I like the way you think about a picture like this, the timing of the passing guy was perfect, he really seem to belong in the frame.
The tilt works pretty well here as well.
Fine work

Hej Bert,

Groet Rob

Very much like Cartier-Bresson once again, keeping the camera steady and waiting for the scene to complete. Well, you succeeded once again, my friend, a photo that conveys a message in a very graphical manner.
Regards, amigo, and a happy festive season.
