C42
C42... chutzpah of the Citroen company on the Champs Ιlysιes. A whole building for just 8 design classics (from the Traction Avant onwards), a dynamic sculpture (Totem Mobile and a whole lotta miniature cars – toys are the only items for sale here.
The fascinating C42 Citroen building is basically a giant atrium with a central articulated display column embraced by U shaped floors. It was inaugurated in september 2007 and was designed by Manuelle Gautrand. This pic is shot almost straight up.
The glass/metal lattice work of the roof extends to both the front and back facade.

In the two complementary pics are a shot from the 2CV and the TA and a shot of the entrance section of the underground Totem Mobile section. The name Totem struck me as a fitting metaphor for C42.
The process: I had my old and trusted Olympus 8080 and the F30 with me during our short but delightful trip to Paris. I left the Canon home ‘cause its walk around lens was undergoing surgery -a new IS system (it’s back now, Canon Holland repaired it free of charge although it was outside the warranty period). No special reason why I used the F30 here. The PoV is almost straight up.
The tech: my standard PCS3 work flow: altered the saturation, contrast, curves and levels for the whole pic and some elements separately, using different layers, enhanced the edges, USM-ed (a 5 step method loosely based on the script of Luko and the adaptation of Adrian Warren), added a frame and resized and did a gentle USM (1,4px, 18%) again.

Hallo Bert,
Een beetje verwonderd dat ik uw Canon 30 niet meer zie, maar blijkt dat een andzer fototostel in goede handen een eveneens prachtige foto kan maken.
Dit is echt Bert's werk, een vleugje kunst, iets dar werkelijk opvalt, gegoten in een vorm waar het in thuis hoort.
Kleuren en samenstelling zijn weer van de beste, het oog heeft het weer gedaan, kwaliteit man, iets dat mag gezien worden. Geen kits maar kunst.

Heee Berrrt! Heb ik gisterenavond een 'mooie' crit zitten schrijven, zie ik nu dat ik 'm niet afgemaakt hebt (was nog op zoek naar een bepaald Engels woord), en heb toen de browser kennelijk dichtgegooid.
Perfect POV, and a fantastic shining and reflecting object. I have always been very fond of caleidoscopes, especially the ones through which you can see a twisted reality, and this really looks like that.

Extraordinay geometrical composition, the red circles repeated in a good perspective give a photographic subject very good. In addition, the reflections in the glasses, create a little chaos in the middle of the geometrical regularity! I like a lot this beautiful composition, technically perfect!
