Photographer's Note

Sight of the valley of "Val d'Arly - Mont-Blanc" in Savoy, caught since home. Far away, in clouds, the villages of "Flumet" and "Saint Nicolas La Chapelle". Here, we are at 1200m (3937ft) altitude, to the doors of the Mont-Blanc.

The shot is taken July 12, 2004 to 9h30 AM. This day, we had foreseen a trek during 2 days to 3000m (9843ft) on the massif of Mont-Blanc. Of memory, state of the weather by the mountain weather office :

- 2400m (7874ft): Zero visibility.
- 2700m (8858ft): +2C (36F).
- 3000m (9843ft): Snow and strong wind.
....
Seen the visibility, all has been canceled... Therefore, we resigned ourselves to play cards, Monopoly,... And finally, we had a good laugh : -))

Song title : Stormy Weather, Smoking Popes (2001).
