Photographer's Note

The three-masted bark "Belem" in Lorient harbor, after the rain. This is the start of my second voyage on that nice ship, an old one (she was built in 1896) but still sailing. On this lateral view, a good sight of the riiged (two masts with square sails, one with triangular ones) and the black painting with false white gundoords with is one of the distinctive mark of the ship. For additional inforation, see their site (www.fondationbelem.com) or my first travelogue on that ship.

Lorient is not a very interesting town, one of these French cities heavily bombed during the Second World War and badly rebuilt. The harbor is not so bard, but I could not avoid that uggly building in the background.
